Since 2001, Farmwest.com—operated by the Pacific Field Corn Association (PFCA)—has provided farmers and industry with key tools and weather-based calculators for informed decision-making. Over the years, the BC Ministry of Agriculture and Food (BCMAF) has increasingly supported the weather-related aspects of Farmwest. In 2025, BCMAF launched the BC AgriWeather website to centralize agricultural weather services province-wide. As part of this shift, Farmwest’s weather calculators have been migrated to the new platform. Despite the change in platform, the goal is to ensure users still enjoy a familiar experience when navigating Farmwest.com. During this transitional period, some minor differences in how information is displayed may occur.
Farmwest continues to be the sole provider of ammonia loss prediction from applied manure and is launching in the summer of 2025 a novel GDD calculator designed specifically for fall cover crops.
