Barn Tools by Patrick, age 8.
Judges Comments ~ 1st ~ A unique and interesting take on farm life. Patrick chose to concentrate on the tools of work. What makes this picture stand out is its "close-up" viewpoint, a balanced, but not symmetrical composition and attention paid to drawing the design of the tools accurately.
Our Farm By Tommy. Age 10.
Judges Comments ~ 2nd ~ This drawing looks like a celebration. Bright colours, huge sun, animals on every surface and in every window, make this a picture that a viewer can keep coming back to. The hill behind looks like a backdrop or stage that helps to showcase the barn and farmyard scene.
Paint Horse in the Barnyard by Riley, age 11. Quesnel, B.C.
Judges Comments ~ 3rd ~ This is a delightful portrayal of a horse. One can imagine that this horse, although tame, is rearing up in playfulness. Soft colours create a calm feeling. The use of brown in more than one area helps the picture feel unified.
